Hello and welcome! I’m Candice Perkins—a Nurse Practitioner by profession and a Chicken Tender by passion.

My husband and I are originally from New Jersey, and after his retirement from the U.S. Army after 20 years, we made Cadiz, Kentucky our home. Together, we’re raising three wonderful children and a farm full of feathered personalities.

What started as my husband’s idea to get “just a few chickens” quickly turned into what every poultry enthusiast knows as chicken math. Six chickens soon became an entire flock—and today, that passion has grown into Perkins Poultry Palace & DNA Lab.

We proudly breed:

In addition, we raise Cornish Cross meat birds three seasons out of each year. My husband also breeds New Zealand/Rex and Lionhead rabbits and Emus, making our farm home to a wide variety of exceptional animals.
